You both acquire the materials necessary to initiate the rituals individually and you cannot share.

There are a limited number of cities on the map and you can’t both occupy the same place. You cannot give units to your buddy if they really need them, nor can you give them gold. The most confusing element to the campaign co-op in Total War: WARHAMMER 2 is that there is absolutely no sharing of resources whatsoever.
